IRobot (Roomba) was founded in 1990 by the Department of Robotics at MIT with the vision of making the use of robots a reality. IRobot has hired over 500 top experts in the robotics industry and invested heavily in research and design of products. At present, robots developed and produced by iRobot have become practical and reliable assistants in households, helping people complete cleaning tasks such as sweeping, wiping, and washing floors.
