Gaiam (pronounced "guy") is a fusion of the words "Gaia" and "me" Gaia, the Mother Earth, was honored by the Cretan civilization over 5000 years ago on the ancient Greek island of Crete. The concept of Gaia originated from ancient philosophy that the Earth is a living entity.
